Events for 2017

16th June

David, (G3YYD) will be showing how to set-up and use an SO2R (single operator two radios) system and probably displaying some high-power low-pass filters

                                                                   

19th May

Our Annual Club Constructors Night.

Bring your finished projects and conduct a short presentation about the piece to the club members present on the night.

At the end of the evening, our prestigeous "Constructors Trophy" will be awarded to the best entry. (Voted by all present).

21st April

Howard (G6KQP) will be conducting a talk on Basic Radar & Microwaves.

No further details at this time.

17th March

Phil (G4LWB) will be conducting a detailed talk about SDR Play and its Software.

Phil will have with him a set up station for everyone to see and have a go with if they wish.

17th February

Bill (2E0OCW) will conduct a talk on Blogging & Website Design.

The talk will be primarily be about writing Blogs for the club website as this is such a huge subject and time constraints dont allow the detail needed.

There will be a presentation of examples to follow along with during the talk, but this is intended to be a basic beginners guide and further exploration of the subject will be needed for those who wish to start their own Blog.

The new website, due to come on line later in the year, will have a "Club Members Blog Page" and if anyone wishes to have their blogs posted, please contact Bill via the "Contact Page".

20th January

David's (G3YYD), follow up talk about his amplifier.

This is a update of his talk back in November 2016 where he talked about the pre-build.

He will have with him the finished amplifier for everyone to see.

Contests

IOTA 2017

This years IOTA Contest will be held on the 29th -30th July from 12:00 - 12:00 UTC.

The IOTA Contest is the most popular contest in the RSGB HF Contests calendar, it attracts entries from all around the world.

Changes for 2017

Removal of band change restrictions for Multi-ops Reduced log submission time (Note - the HFCC are considering shortening the exchange for Island stations in the longer term).

Last Year, 2016, MMARS took part in the IOTA contest and was awarded 3rd place overall in the "Single Operator 12 Hour Unassisted Category".
